LAST WEEK REWIND
Mines went 1-1 on their trip to Florida, the first in program history. On Thursday at Rollins, the Orediggers won 2-0 on fantastic goals by Emma Peterson and Amena Nelson; on Saturday at #10 Florida Tech, an early second-half PK was the difference as the Orediggers suffered their first loss of the season, 1-0.

STARTING A NEW STREAK
The Florida Tech loss snapped a 24-game unbeaten streak, which goes into the record books as the second-longest unbeaten streak in program history. Mines was 18-0-6 in a span that started in late October 2019. The Orediggers do still have a long active streak going, however: they have not been beaten at home in 12 straight matches (9-0-2), and hold a nine-match unbeaten streak in RMAC play (8-0-1) in any venue.

EVERYBODY SCORES
Mines has scored seven goals in six matches this season, and all seven have come off different boots. Lauren Clingman, Eliot Edwards, AK Ford, Reese McDermott, Amena Nelson, Emma Peterson, and Meg Zimmerman have all found the net, and have mostly all created their own shots as Mines has just one assist - a Landry Corbett throw-in to produce McDermott's goal in the season opener against Simon Fraser - this season.

LOCKING IT DOWN
Mines has been known for its outstanding defense under head coach Kevin Fickes, and that's no different this year as the Orediggers have conceded only two goals in six matches. Mines' 0.33 GAA leads the RMAC and is 10th in the nation, while Sierra Roth ranks second in D-II with four shutouts and has been outstanding with a .917 save percentage.

SCOUTING ADAMS STATE
Adams State is 1-3-0 this season, with a win over St. Edward's and losses to #25 Western Washington, Lubbock Christian, and West Texas A&M. This will actually be the Grizzlies' second trip to Stermole Stadium this season as they played WWU here to start the season on Sept. 2 in a hard-fought 2-0 loss. Madison Hagerty and Carena Harrison have ASU's two goals this season; they are conceded 3.75 goals per game. Mines is 14-2-1 all-time against the Grizzlies including nine consecutive wins and a 15-match unbeaten streak dating to 2005. They last met on March 26, 2021 in a 3-0 Mines win on goals by Eliot Edwards, Lauren Sherburne, and AK Ford.

SCOUTING NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS
New Mexico Highlands is 0-2 this season, playing on two non-conference matches in losses to Lubbock Christian and Angelo State. They will play at Regis Friday before visiting Mines Sunday. Valeria Baca has the Cowgirls' lone goal this season. Mines is 16-4-3 all-time against the Cowgirls including seven straight wins and an 11-match unbeaten streak dating to 2012. They did not play last season as NMHU opted out of the spring; their last meeting was a 4-0 Mines win on Sept. 29, 2019 on a brace by Emi Higgins and goals from Emma Peterson and Karolina Sidebaeck.

EVANS GETS HALL CALL
Former Mines star Anna Evans was part of the Mines Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2021 announced earlier in August. The three-time all-American and two-time Academic All-American was the 2012 RMAC Player of the Year and 2013 regional player of the year tallying 55 goals and 23 assists in her career, including 19 game-winning goals. Evans led Mines to the program's first-ever RMAC regular-season title in 2013 and won three straight RMAC Tournament crowns starting in 2011.

LOOKING AHEAD
Mines will have a split weekend to open October, visiting Black Hills State Friday, Oct. 1 before hosting MSU Denver on Sunday, Oct. 3 on Homecoming weekend.
