MINES HOSTS HOME RMAC WEEKEND
Colorado School of Mines returns home for the first time since New Year's Day to host a key RMAC weekend, welcoming Colorado Mesa (14-6, 8-3 RMAC) and Westminster (8-8, 6-4 RMAC) this weekend. The Orediggers hope to get back across the .500 mark as they enter the weekend 6-7 overall and 4-5 in conference play after their win at South Dakota Mines on Saturday. Both games will be seen on the RMAC Network.

MASKS REQUIRED FOR FANS AT LOCKRIDGE ARENA
Masks are required for all fans attending home games at Lockridge Arena, regardless of vaccination status, consistent with health regulations set by Jefferson County.

NMHU GAME RESCHEDULED
Mines' postponed game from Jan. 8 against New Mexico Highlands has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Lockridge Arena. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. following the women's contest at 5 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Orediggers are riding high after their best offensive performance of the season in an 89-56 rout at South Dakota Mines on Saturday. Mines shot .613 led by Brendan Sullivan's 23-point, 10-of-15 performance. Ben Boone and Kobi Betts each added 13 and Adam Krasovec had 11. Mines' starting lineup shot a blistering .708 in the game, and their 89 points marked a season high.

ORSER NEARS WINS MARK
The 2021-22 season marks the 21st on the bench for Mines head coach Pryor Orser, who is now one victory away from tying the program's all-time wins record. Under Orser, Mines has gone 385-208, won five RMAC regular-season championships and two RMAC Tournament titles, and qualified for 11 NCAA Tournaments. His 272 RMAC wins (272-143 overall) are the second-most in conference history, and he has the chance to reach two milestones this season. His overall win total is currently one behind Mines all-time leader Jim Darden (386 wins), who coached at Mines from 1954 to 1992.

MINES VS. COLORADO MESA
CMU is 14-6 overall and 8-3 in RMAC play with two losses to MSU Denver and another to Black Hills State this season. They bounced back from an overtime home loss to MSUD last Friday by routing Colorado Christian 101-66 on Saturday. The Mavericks feature balanced scoring led by Trevor Baskin (13.8 ppg), Blaise Threatt (13.0 ppg), and Mac Riniker (11.5 ppg), who are three of seven players averaging eight or more points a night. The Mavs shoot a league-leading .498 as a team. The game also will be a meeting of the RMAC's two best defenses as Mines leads the league at 66.0 ppg and CMU is second at 66.6 ppg.

Mines and Mesa are playing for the 83rd time in a series dating back to 1976 with CMU holding a 52-30 lead including two wins over the Orediggers last season. The two last met in the 2021 RMAC Tournament final when the Mavericks won 75-74 in overtime; both teams qualified for the NCAA Tournament but never met as CMU lost their opening game and Mines went on to win the West regional.

MINES VS. WESTMINSTER
Westminster is 8-8 overall and 6-4 in RMAC play having won three straight ahead of their game at nationally-ranked Regis on Friday. Yusuf Mohamed leads the Griffins with 14.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while Jarrett Jordan pitches in 12.5 points and Brayden Johnson 10.9 points per game.

The Orediggers and Griffins match up for the 54th time since 1955 with Westminster holding a 28-25 series edge. They have split their last four games, with Mines winning 63-50 in Golden last year on a balanced scoring effort including 11 each from Ben Boone and Brendan Sullivan.
