AMARILLO, Texas - Colorado School of Mines played its best golf of the fall to move up the leaderboard and finish 11th at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at Amarillo CC.
The Orediggers shot their best team round of the season with a +1 281, moving up two spots to finish 11th at +21 overall. Oklahoma Christian maintained their lead to win the team title at -17 ahead of Midwester State at -11.
The surge was led by a pair of two-under rounds of 68 from
Lukas Taggart and
Ethan Adam. Taggart matched his career-best round relative to par with four birdies spread out through his day, rising 12 spots on the leaderboard to finish T25 at +2. Adam scored seven birdies to get to his 68, rising 20 spots to finish T38 at +5.
Max Lange continued his steady play with a 72 to settle at T58 (+8), and
Theodore Reitter's 74 got him to the same overall score and spot despite having Mines' non-counting score of the day.
Owen Cornmesser's 73 was his best round of the week and was the team's fourth counter, moving him to T74 and +14.
Oklahoma Christian's Oskari Nikku and Exequiel Rodriguez shared medalist honors at -6 a shot ahead of Western New Mexico's Anthony Lara.
Mines will wrap up the fall on Oct. 17-18 when they play in the Otter Invitational in Seaside, Calif.
