COLORADO SPRINGS - An event win for
Everett Delate in the 60m hurdles led Colorado School of Mines on the final day of the UCCS Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite.
A handful of Orediggers were in competition on the second day of the meet which wrapped up the fall semester for the indoor season. Delate highlighted Mines' day on the track winning the 60m hurdles in 8.02 seconds. Delate was just one-hundreth off the Mines record with the second-fastest time in program history and a new personal best.
In the men's lone field entry of the day,
Grant Redmond cleared 2.09m, not far off his program record of 2.16m, for third in the high jump.
The Mines women were exclusively in the field as
Lexye Wood led a trio of Orediggers in the women's triple jump, clearing 1.65m for third place as
Claire Kintzley and
Abbi Gillespie each achieved 1.60m to tie for fourth. It was a collegiate best for both Kintzley and Gillespie. Kintzley also hit 10.86m for third in the triple jump to round out the field performances.
Mines breaks for finals and the holidays and won't return to action until Jan. 20-21, when they'll be right back at UCCS.
