NABC Week 6 Coaches Poll
GOLDEN, Colo. – The latest NABC Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday morning and saw the Colorado School of Mines men's basketball team receive a late Christmas gift, gaining two spots in the latest edition of the poll to become the eighth-ranked team in the land. The Orediggers jumped to the #9 spot in the latest rendition of the D2SIDA Media Poll released last week.
The Orediggers (11-1, 5-1) closed out action at Lockridge Arena in 2022 with a four-game home stand before the holiday break and rebounded from their first loss of the season in a big way last time out, posting back-to-back 100-point outings for the first time since the 2013-14 season with 106-70 and 101-59 wins over MSU Denver and Western Colorado back on December 17 and 18.
Black Hills State moved up two spots in the coaches poll to #3 while Fort Lewis dropped out of the Top 10 following their first loss of the season, sliding all the way to #15. Indiana (Pa.) moved into the top spot with 10 first-place votes, followed by Nova Southeastern, BHSU, Hillsdale and Missouri-St. Louis in the top five. Colorado Mesa is receiving votes once again and is currently one of 21 teams doing so heading into 2023.
The Orediggers are scheduled to take the court one more time in 2022 before the calendar rolls over, heading over to Lakewood for a New Year's Eve clash with Colorado Christian at 5 p.m.
