OREDIGGERS OPEN RMAC PLAY IN PUEBLO
Colorado School of Mines resets the record to zero and opens Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play this weekend with a four-game series at CSU Pueblo. The Orediggers, still searching for their first win after facing four nationally-ranked teams in their opening two weekends, will look to get things jumpstarted as they head down I-25. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at noon with Sunday's twinbill at 11 a.m.

GAME COVERAGE
Every conference game this season will stream live and for free on the RMAC Network, which has relaunched for  the 2021-22 school year. Fans used to watching on their smart TV or other device must download the new app by searching "RMAC" in your device's app store. The new watch portal is available at minesathletics.com/tv or rmacnetwork.com.

WEEKEND FORECAST
The weekend weather in Pueblo is certainly an improvement over the frigid conditions this week up and down the Front Range. Saturday will be chilly but playable with highs in the mid-40s with sunshine, and Sunday should be perfect with highs around 60 and plenty of sun.

EARLY SEASON LEADERS
Sophomore Sidney Wilson has led Mines at the plate so far this season, hitting .400 and slugging .560 through eight games with four doubles and four home runs. Trystin Oshiro-Sano has also had a breakout in her first two weeks as a starter hitting .333 with four doubles. Sadriena Rodriguez has led the pitching staff with a 3.07 ERA and 1.0 K/inn. Rate as she's held opposing batters to a .250 average.

COUTTS ERA UNDERWAY
Mines is in its first season under new head coach Mike Coutts, a college softball veteran who arrived in Golden after six seasons as the head coach at the University of Maine. Coutts won an America East title and made an NCAA regional appearance at Maine, winning 94 games over his six seasons in Orono. Assistant coach Barb Duran remains on the staff this season as well.

IN THE POLLS
Mines was chosen fourth in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Jan. 25. Mines received 81 points to tie for fourth with Regis. Colorado Mesa topped the poll followed closely by Colorado Christian, and MSU Denver is third.

SCOUTING THE THUNDERWOLVES
CSU Pueblo is 3-0 after a series sweep of Western New Mexico to start their season on Feb. 12 and 13. Hannah Hackney went 7-for-10 with 8 RBI in that series to lead the Thunderwolves at the plate, while Sophia Lishner (3.00), Taylor Strupp (3.82), and Katelynn Ralston (11.67) all picked up wins in the circle.

Mines and CSU Pueblo have met 105 times since 1994 with CSUP holding a 66-39 series lead. The Orediggers have dominated the series since 2017, however, going 12-4 in that span including 3-1 in last year's series in Golden. That series included a 5-4 extra-innings walkoff in the finale thanks to Clara Larson's eighth-inning RBI double.

LOOKING AHEAD
Mines has their home opener slated next, taking on Colorado Mesa March 5-6 at Joe Coors, Jr. Softball Field.
