BOULDER, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Track & Field teams closed out the opening day of the CU Invite on Friday evening with the hammer throw, javelin and triple jump at Potts Field.

Most of Mines' highlights came in the hammer throw.
Arvid Veidmark IV was the top DII finisher thanks to a toss of 54.64 meters (179-3.0) as he finished #5 in a field of 22.
Davin Kiesby was right behind in sixth with a mark of 54.38 meters (178-5.0). That improved his #9 all-time standing with the Orediggers. Meanwhile, on the women's side,
Jennifer Jarnagin jumped from #10 to #7 in the record book thanks to her hammer heave of 47.29 meters (155-2.0).

Other Orediggers competing on Friday included
Nicholas Nijkamp,
Garrett Lanker,
Claire Kintzley and
Kitt Rupar. Nijkamp leapt 13.22 meters (43-4.25) in the triple jump. Lanker doubled in the hammer and javelin, going 42.76 meters (140-3.0) in the former and 50.45 meters (165-6.0) in the later. Kintzley posted an even 11.00 meters (36-1.25) in the triple jump. Rupar whipped the hammer 37.57 meters (123-3.0) in the hammer. Jarnagin rounded it out by doubling in the javelin as well with a mark of 25.66 meters (84-2.0).
