COLORADO SPRINGS – Oredigger utility man
Luke Folsom claimed the final RMAC Player of the Week award of the season on Tuesday following a record-setting weekend for the Colorado School of Mines Baseball team.
It marks the first weekly award of Folsom's career and he earned it by hitting .579 with nine runs on 11 hits including four home runs and five doubles leading to 13 RBI in Mines' series win at UCCS. The sophomore's five doubles broke the Oredigger's single-season record previously held at 27 by Stefan Revielle. The slew of two-baggers also kept Folsom ranked #1 in the nation in total doubles and doubles per game. With the 2022 RMAC Baseball Tournament starting Wednesday, the Littleton, Colo., native ranks #1 in the RMAC in doubles and total hits, #3 in on-base percentage, #4 in batting average and RBI and #7 in total home runs.
Folsom and the Orediggers open the postseason on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. against Regis at Bergman Field on the campus of Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction. Live stats and video of all RMAC Tournament games will be linked at www.minesathletics.com.
