Drew Stokes was voted RMAC Setter of the Week on Monday after guiding the #11 Colorado School of Mines Volleyball team to a 3-1 record on opening weekend.
Stokes' weekend resume included 164 assists at a clip of 12.62 assists per set along with 21 digs, 13 kills, three service aces and two blocks while posting a .480 hitting percentage. Those numbers helped Mines to sweeps of Western Colorado, Northern State and #19 UT Tyler with a four-set loss to #22 Southwest Minnesota State mixed in. Stokes now ranks #1 in the RMAC in assists per set and #2 in total assists while sitting #3 in the nation in assists per set. She also earned Oredigger Classic All-Tournament honors for her efforts. The Murphysboro, Ill., native now touts 19 RMAC Setter of the Week awards in her career.
Mines volleyball next heads to the Hillsdale Charger "Net Results" Invitational in Michigan where the Orediggers will face Missouri S&T, Ferris State, #17 Gannon and #22 Hillsdale. Live stats and video will be linked at www.minesathletics.com.
