Final Results
ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - Colorado School of Mines closed the Sonoma State Regional Preview in 11th place as they got a look at the site of the NCAA West Regional Championships at Fox Trail GC.
The Orediggers closed with a team round of 299 to be +23 in 11th place, a shot back of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Sonoma State surged at home with a big -12 day to tie Western New Mexico for the team title at -14.
A pair of freshmen finished as the top Orediggers on the leaderboard thanks to
Lukas Taggart and
Max Lange. Taggart shot 76 to settle at +2 and a T25 finish, while
Max Lange had Mines' low round of Tuesday with a one-under 71 to rise to T27 at +3.
Ethan Adam shot 77 to finish T35 at +5, and
Theodore Reitter's 75 counted for Mines as he came in T58 at +13.
Owen Cornmesser was Tuesday's non-counter at 78 to finish 66th at +24.
Holy Name's Edvin Backstrom won medalist honors by five strokes at -15 ahead of Sonoma State's Colin Huang and Oklahoma Christian's Alejandro Armijo.
The Orediggers return to action Oct. 3-4 at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite in Amarillo, Texas.
