COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado School of Mines cross country swept the RMAC Runner of the Week awards on Wednesday as Steven Goldy earned the men's accolade and Jenna Ramsey brought it home for the women.

Goldy earned the first RMAC Runner of the Week award of his career after winning the Roadrunners Invitational on Saturday. He traversed the 7,800-meter course in 23:45.6 and finished first out of 131 runners while breaking the meet record previously held by teammate Chris Cathcart. Goldy's gold medal fueled Mines' team title for the #2-ranked men with a total of 28 points. That proved 11 points better than #30 CSU Pueblo.

Ramsey's first RMAC Runner of the Week of her career came two days after earning National Athlete of the Week from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA). In her very first race wearing a Mines uniform, Ramsey charged through the 6,000-meter course at the Roadrunners Invitational in a time of 21:35.5. Her first-place performance led to a 1-2-3-5-6 finish for the Orediggers as Mines' women posted a combined score of 17 points on the way to the team title. The Emporia State transfer outpaced 135 other competitors while #5 Mines outscored #30 CSU Pueblo by 48 points.

The next action for the Oredigger cross country teams will be the Ted Castaneda Classic hosted by Colorado College at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs on Oct. 1. A full preview and any live coverage information will be released the week leading up to the event.
