COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners for men's soccer Tuesday afternoon, and the Colorado School of Mines men's soccer duo of
Tristan Semelsberger and
Lucas King were named the league's Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.
Semelsberger earns his first career weekly award after a week in which he scored twice and recorded an assist as Mines opened RMAC play with a pair of wins. Friday night in an 8-0 win over Adams State, he buried a free kick in the 10th minute for the second goal of the contest, while on Sunday he scored the go-ahead goal in a 3-1 win over Fort Lewis, again by way of a free kick that he buried in the upper right corner of goal in the 80th before assisting on the Orediggers' final goal of the game in the 89th minute.
King collects his first defensive weekly award after earning offensive player of the week laurels back in 2019. In Friday night's match with the Grizzlies, he assisted on a goal in the 31st minute following a corner kick before scoring his first goal of the season in the 65th minute for Mines' seventh goal of the game. Sunday against the Skyhawks, he earned an assist on the game-tying goal just before the first half as the Orediggers came from behind to win with three unanswered goals.
RMAC play continues this week for Mines, heading to Colorado Christian Wednesday before trekking to MSU Denver Sunday.
