Mines Garners Highest-Ever Poll Finishes

GOLDEN, Colo. - After their trip to the national championship game, Colorado School of Mines has finished the 2022 football season with their best-ever final poll rankings.

The Orediggers finished #2 in the AFCA Coaches' Poll and #3 in the D2football.com media poll, marking their best final showings ever in both polls. Mines finished #3 and #4, respectively, in the 2021 rankings. 

After starting the season 0-2, Mines reeled off 13 consecutive wins to reach the NCAA Division II Championship game for the first time, winning both the RMAC championship and a second consecutive Super Region IV crown along the way. First-year head coach Brandon Moore guided the Orediggers to a 13-3 overall record.

Mines has now been ranked in 49 consecutive top-25 polls dating back to the 2018 season, and the Orediggers appear in their 98th overall national ranking.
