Fred Mitchell Award Watchlist

GOLDEN, Colo. -
Colorado School of Mines kicker Hunter Pearson has been named to the Fred Mitchell Award's September watchlist for his exceptional start to the season.

The graduate transfer has been outstanding for the Orediggers (6-0, 4-0 RMAC) this season, converting five of six field goal attempts and all 37 PAT tries. His longest field goal has come from 44 yards, at CSU Pueblo, and he also hit a 41-yard gamewinner against Grand Valley State. With 52 points, he is the leading scorer among kickers in the RMAC through the first six weeks of the season.

Named after former Wittenberg Univeristy kicker and Chicago Tribune sports columnist Fred Mitchell, the award recognizes the nation's top collegiate placekicker from the FCS, Division II, III, NAIA and NJCAA ranks. The monthly watch lists honor top performers during the season, and a winner is announced in mid-December.

The Orediggers are back home Saturday to host South Dakota Mines at noon.
