Box Score SPEARFISH, S.D. – The offense for the Colorado School of Mines Volleyball team caught fire on Saturday afternoon and drove the Orediggers to a 3-1 win against Black Hills State inside the Young Center.
Madison Glassco stole the show with 15-kill, 19-dig double-double while hitting over .500. She notched two service aces as well, and knocked down the final kill of the match.
Rose Stuewe matched Glassco's 15 kills on a .344 attack percentage. Naomia Romslo and
Allison Jansen made it a quartet of Orediggers with double-digit kills thanks to 12 and 10, respectively.
Jada Price and
Renata Bolado Corona had 10 digs each. Jansen added four total blocks as well.
Presley Powell finished touting 56 assists, four digs, one kill, and one ace.
As a team, Mines (9-8, 3-4 RMAC) posted an attack percentage of .380. The Orediggers also had eight total blocks which helped hold Black Hills State (5-13, 1-8 RMAC) to a .161 hitting percentage. The highlight for the Yellow Jackets came in the form of 12 service aces. They also matched Mines with eight total blocks. However, the Orediggers took the advantage on defense with 59 digs compared to 34 digs by BHSU.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A sluggish start for Mines saw the Orediggers hit .281 in the opening set while Black Hills State converted at .400 while adding six service aces. The result was a 25-22 win for BHSU and a 1-0 lead in the match. After the opening frame, it was all Orediggers. Mines scorched the Yellow Jackets at a .444 clip in the second set on the way to a 25-14 win to even the match. In the third game, the visitors upped their offensive output to a .500 attack percentage and won, 25-13. Mines also produced three blocks in the second set and three more in the third to hold BHSU under .200 on the attack. The final set was closer, but the Orediggers still hit over .300 and had one block to finish off a 25-20 win and clinch the match.

- Mines is now 16-1 in the all-time series against Black Hills State including 16 straight wins.
- The Orediggers haven't lost to the Yellow Jackets since 1992.
- Glassco notched the third double-double of her career and also posted her best single-match hitting percentage.
