ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Oredigger trio of
Renata Bolado Corona,
Presley Powell, and
Rose Stuewe were the keys for the Colorado School of Mines Volleyball team on Saturday as the Orediggers claimed a 3-0 win at Adams State.
Bolado Corona finished with a team-high 13 digs and three service aces. Stuewe led all players with 14 kills while hitting .370 on the attack. At setter Powell dished out 44 assists and added six digs along with three kills.
Madison Glassco and

Naomi Romslo was also notable with her eight kills on .429 hitting. Rounding out the highlights were

Allison Jansen had three solo blocks.
Mines (10-9, 4-5 RMAC) overcame a 12-6 deficit in blocks by grinding out 54 digs compared to 39 digs by Adams State (5-15, 3-7 RMAC). The Orediggers also held statistical advantages in hitting percentage, kills, service aces, and assists. The Grizzlies' major highlight were their 12 blocks. They also had fewer attack errors than Mines. The victory keeps the Orediggers over .500 on the season and keeps them in contention for a spot in the RMAC Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Orediggers may have recorded a sweep on Saturday evening, but every game was an absolute battle. In the opening set, Adams State kept Mines under .200 in attack percentage. However, the visitors extended rallies, producing 24 digs compared to 15 by ASU. Bolado Corona had six of those digs. That helped Glassco hammer down five kills on the way to a 25-22 Mines win.
Game two was even tighter. The Orediggers hit .317 as a team and Adams State converted at a .348 clip on the attack. Those numbers made it no surprise that extra points were required. In the end, Mines pulled out a 29-27 win thanks to eight massive kills from Stuewe and 15 more assists from Powell. That put the visitors on the precipice of a sweep and they would not disappoint. Set three saw four error-free kills from Romslo, 12 assists off the hand of Powell, and four more digs from Bolado Corona en route to a 25-20 win and the victory in the match.
