2023 CSC Academic All-District Volleyball Teams

GOLDEN, Colo. – Shannon Perna, Jada Price, and Meghan Slaninka were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District on Tuesday, giving the Colorado School of Mines Volleyball team a trio of honorees.
 
Price and Slaninka earned their first Academic All-District nods in their first year of eligibility while Perna brought home her second straight distinction. The three Orediggers earned their accolades thanks to their combination of athletic and academic achievement. Criteria for the CSC Academic All-District teams require honorees to be sophomores or above with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. Award winners must also have been a significant starter or participated in at least 90 percent of total sets played. Select Academic All-District team members will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
 
Perna earned her distinction as a senior in engineering physics. She was also named to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll earlier this fall. On the court, Perna produced 169 kills, 100 digs, 31 total blocks and 14 service aces. Price's inaugural CSC award comes in her second year as a chemical engineering major. She also earned RMAC Academic Honor Roll status and appeared on two all-tournament teams during the 2023 season. At libero, Price totaled 338 digs, 54 assists, and 14 service aces. Slaninka brought home her first CSC accolade as a sophomore in mechanical engineering. It adds to a 2023 resume which includes RMAC First-Team All-Academic as well. Slaninka played next to Price in the back row and racked up 143 digs, 27 assists, and 16 service aces.
 
Mines volleyball concluded its 2023 campaign last month with back-to-back wins at home. The Orediggers are now in offseason training and preparing to announce their 2023-24 signing class. That announcement will be published on social media and at www.minesathletics.com.
