COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines' Avery Wright was the Orediggers' lone competitor at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi as she took on the pentathlon at UCCS.

Wright compiled 3,279 points to place eighth overall, fourth among RMAC competitors in the 19-woman field.

Wright started the day with a 9.25-second time in the 60m hurdles, scoring her highest total of the day with 858 points, and then cleared a 1.53m bar in the high jump for 655 more. Wright moved into the top 10 in the points standings thanks to a personal-best 12.09m shot put (bettering her previous PR by three-quarters of a meter) for 667 points, and then hit 5.17m in the long jump for 606 more. She finished with a 2:47.22 800m.

Mines will break for the holidays and returns to action right back in Colorado Springs for the UCCS Invite on Jan. 19-20.
