GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Baseball duo of
Luke Folsom and

Folsom and Houghtaling were both named NCBWA Preseason All-Region last week. Folsom was a 2022 NCBWA Third-Team All-American and 2022 D2CCA Honorable Mention All-American as well. Last season he hit .414 with 50 runs on 82 hits including 29 doubles and 15 home runs along with 61 RBI. Folsom's doubles led the nation and he also made nine starts on the mound. Houghtaling was second-team all-region at first base according to the American Baseball Coaches' Association and NCBWA. He batted .417 with 34 runs on 55 hits including 16 doubles, one triple, and 14 home runs along with 42 RBI. Houghtaling's lone triple was part of hitting for the cycle on the final weekend of the regular season.
Â
As a team, Mines finished 2022 with an overall record of 33-19 while going 17-15 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference under Head Coach
