NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Polls: WBCA | D2SIDA
GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball continued to improve its ranking in both national polls released on Tuesday following another 2-0 weekend.
The Orediggers rose three spots into a tie for #12 in the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association's (WBCA) NCAA Division II Top 25. Mines also improved from #18 to #14 in the Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll sponsored by D2SIDA. The surge followed a 72-58 win at Black Hills State on Saturday and an 84-68 victory at South Dakota Mines on Saturday.
Megan Van de Graaf was the individual star of the weekend, averaging 24 points per game on 60-percent shooting which included 25 points at BHSU which touts the #1 defense in the RMAC.
Undefeated Ashland remained the consensus #1 team in NCAA Division II by collecting every first-place vote available. Mines remained the only team from the RMAC to appear on the national lists. Within the South Central Region, Texas Woman's was #3 in the media poll and #4 in the coaches' poll. Angelo State dropped to #21 in the media poll and completely out of the coaches' poll. Also notable was Nebraska-Kearney which the Orediggers faced in their 2022-23 home opener. The Lopers were ranked #11 in both national polls.
