AUSTIN, Texas. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the Academic All-America® teams for the sport of men's basketball Tuesday and saw Colorado School of Mines forward
Brendan Sullivan earn honors for the third consecutive season, as he was once again named Second Team Academic All-America®.
The 2022-23 Academic All-America® Men's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Sullivan, a redshirt senior from Highlands Ranch, ends his career as one of the most decorated players in the history of Mines basketball. He started all 32 games this season and averaged 28.7 minutes, 13.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and shot .510/.413/.829 this season. He also recorded 61 assists, 32 steals and 19 blocks and finished the season with 153 made field goals and led the Orediggers with 64 three-point field goals.
In his career, Sullivan started 141 of 142 games, the lone exception being senior night his freshman season, and started in each of the final 114 games of his career. He scored 1,943 points (6th all-time) on 693 made field goals (4th all-time), including 216 three-pointers (6th all-time), and hauled in 641 rebounds while dishing out 279 assists (8th all-time) and defensively, amassing 160 steals (4th all-time) and 105 blocks.
The RMAC Academic Player of the Year for the third year running and a four-time All-RMAC First Team honoree, Sullivan has already completed an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and is currently working towards a graduate degree in Engineering & Technology Management and carries a cumulative 3.79 GPA.
