BOULDER CITY, Nev.
- Another solid day in southern Nevada has Colorado School of Mines in position to finish strongly at the Las Vegas Desert Classic at Boulder Creek GC.

The Orediggers shot 305 for a second straight day and slipped to 13th in the team standings, but sit in a jumbled middle of the pack just two shots out of being in the top 10. The field includes five teams in the GolfStat top 10.

Lukas Taggart stormed up the leaderboard with the Orediggers' best round of the day, carding a one-under 71 to advance 28 spots to T20 (+6). The freshman had a remarkably consistent day with two birdies and a single bogey on his scorecard. He is a shot ahead of Carter Lolli, who shot 75 to be T26 at +7, and Max Lange is another shot back at +8 after a 79.

Ethan Adam was Mines' fourth counter with an 80 to be T68 (+14), and Theodore Reitter's 83 has him T87 (+17).

Colorado Christian holds a slim one-shot team lead over #8 Lee at +7 as they were two of three teams under par in the field on Monday along with third-place Missouri-St. Louis. Lee's Beck Burnette, the #2-ranked golfer in the nation by GolfStat, leads the field at -9 with CCU's Xavier Bighaus second at -6.

Tuesday's final round is an 8 a.m. PT shotgun start, with Mines playing in foursomes with Cal State Monterey Bay, UCCS, and UT Tyler.
