Final Results
GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Colorado School of Mines wrapped up play at the Hot Dirt Desert Shootout with an eighth-place finish at the Golf Club of Estrella.
The Orediggers shot a team 297 to finish eighth at +22 for the tournament. UCCS held on to win the team title at -10 ahead of #16 Midwestern State (-6) and a surging #20 Colorado Christian (+9).
Lukas Taggart was Mines' top finisher on the leaderboard despite a final-round 79 as he settled at +3 for a T17 finish.
Carter Lolli fired a 70 to climb to +5 and T22, tied with teammate
Max Lange whose even-par 72 got him to the same spot.
Ethan Adam carded 76 to end up T36 at +9, while
Jake Welch's 80 was the non-counting score as he finished T71 at +22.
Connor Downey led Mines' individuals with a one-under 71 to finish T43 at +11, his first collegiate under-par round;
Theodore Reitter came in T54 at +15 after a 75, and
Owen Cornmesser's 81 put him at T64 and +20 with
Jonathan Trigg ending T67 at +21 after a final-round 83.
Midwestern State's Mason Mikeska and Garrett Leek tied for medalist honors at -6 with West Texas A&M's Kolton Baber third at -5.
Mines stays in Goodyear to play in the RJGA Palm Valley Classic starting Monday.
