COLORADO SPRINGS - After her record-breaking weekend, Colorado School of Mines senior Lexye Wood has been named the RMAC Field Athlete of the Week.

It is the first career RMAC weekly award for Wood, who broke the Mines long jump record on Friday at the Kit Mayer Classic at Stermole Track. Wood twice went past the old mark and landed on 6.07m to lead the RMAC this season, surpassing Michelle Rigsby's 6.05m record that had stood since 2016.

It represents the fourth different Mines record for Wood, who co-holds the indoor high jump (1.70m) record and outright has the indoor long jump (6.02m), outdoor high jump (1.71m), and now the outdoor long jump standards. Her performance on Friday marked an all-conditions best for Orediggers in the long jump, and is ranked #8 on the NCAA Division II performance list as a provisional qualifying mark.

Mines is back in action this weekend split between the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific in California, and the Maverick Invitational at Colorado Mesa.
