AZUSA, Calif.
- Aryelle Wright and Zoe Baker broke program records in the 800m and 5000m, respectively, to lead Colorado School of Mines on the first day of the Bryan Clay Invitational.

Wright smashed her own 800m outdoor record by nearly two full seconds, running 2:07.83 to improve on her previous best of 2:09.62 set on the same track last year. Mackenzie Duck followed her up a few heats later by also running a personal best, 2:09.81, to drop a second and a half from her previous standard set earlier this season.

In the men's 800m, Tim Thompson's 1:52.31 marked a season best, and Andy Gebhardt's 1:52.93 was his all-conditions collegiate best by nearly a second.

The 5,000m heats saw the Mines women rewrite the program all-time top-10 list with five new or improved entries led by Baker's record pace. Baker's 16:07.72 marked a massive 20-second personal-best as she reclaimed the program record that she set during the 2022 season; behind her, Jenna Ramsey ran 16:31.80  (the new Mines #3 all-time performance), Holly Moser 16:41.33 (#5), Margaux Basart 16:55.79 (#8), Grace Strongman 16:56.21 (#9), and Brin Strouse 17:32.93 to round out the incredible evening of racing.

The meet continues Saturday, with part of the Mines team also opening up the Maverick Invitational in Grand Junction.
