GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines head men's soccer coach
Greg Mulholland has announced the signing of 11 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to join the Orediggers for the 2023 season. The class is comprised of athletes from eight different states and includes a trio of transfers along with eight freshmen.
The Orediggers are coming off a 2022 season in which they went 13-5-3 overall and 9-1-0 in the RMAC as they swept both the league's regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the Second Round of the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's soccer Championship.
Caden Allaire // 6'4" // 215 // Goalkeeper // Casper, Wyoming // Kelly Walsh (Casper College)
One of two mid-year transfers who joined the Orediggers in the spring of 2023, Allaire spent last season at Casper College and served as the primary netminder for the NJCAA Region IX semifinalists. He started all 16 matches he appeared in and logged 1,415 minutes and posted a record of 11-2-2 with six shutouts, 40 saves and a .690 save percentage to post a GAA of 1.14 en route to Second Team All-Region honors. At the prep level, Allaire played at Kelly Walsh High School and was a two-sport standout in soccer and basketball. He was twice named First Team All-State in soccer and was a three-time All-Western Conference selection and served as team captain. Off the field, he received the Outstanding Senior Award and was named Academic Homecoming Royalty. He is majoring in Quantitative Biosciences and Engineering at Mines.
Bryce Bowman // 5'10" // 155 // Midfielder // Atlanta, Georgia // Concorde Fire ECNL
Bowman prepped at Midtown High School in Atlanta, Georgia where he was a standout member of the soccer program and an All-Region Second Team selection as a junior. He scored 33 goals over his final three seasons, highlighted by 18 as a senior and 15 as a sophomore. On the club tour, he played for Concorde Fire Soccer. Off the field, Bowman was an Engineering TSA Statesman and member of the National Honor Society and a two-time National Latin Exam gold medalist. He plans to major in Electrical Engineering at Mines.
Ayman Bushara // 5'10" // Midfielder // Aurora, Colorado // Eaglecrest (Air Force)
Bushara also joined the Orediggers at the start of the spring 2023 term after beginning his collegiate career at the United States Air Force Academy where helped the Falcons become WAC Tournament Champions and make an NCAA Tournament appearance in the spring 2021 season. Over two seasons, he appeared in 18 matches for the Falcons and scored twice while assisting on a third to record five points over 518 minutes. As a sophomore, he appeared in 12 matches for 367 minutes and had his best performance against Cal State Fullerton, scoring a goal and registering an assist. In the spring 2021 season as a freshman, Bushara played in six matches for 151 minutes and scored the game-winning goal in this collegiate debut against Incarnate Word. Prior to Air Force, Bushara prepped at Eaglecrest High School where he scored 42 points in two seasons with 16 goals and 10 assists. A three-year letterwinner, he was a two-time First Team All-Centennial Conference selection and was also an Honorable Mention All-State honoree. A member of Real Colorado DA on the club circuit, he scored nine times in the 2018-19 season. He is majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Mines.
Alejandro Gonzalez // 5'9" // 160 // Defender/Midfielder // Frisco, Texas // FC Dallas ECNL
Gonzales attended Lone Star High School and was a three-year letterwinner in his career, appearing in 60 matches and scored 13 goals while assisting on an additional nine. He was named First Team All-State, First Team All-Area, First Team All-District, Academic All-District and was named Defensive Most Valauble Player as a senior. As a junior, he was named Second Team All-District, Newcomer of the Year and Academic All-District. Gonzales plays for FC Dallas ECNL on the club circuit, while off the field, member of the National Honor Society, Recipient of the Academic Excellence Award and member of both the College Board's National Hispanic Recognition Program and National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program. He plans to study Computer Science at Mines.
Luke Hanna // 6'1" // 185 // Midfielder // Austin, Texas // James Bowie (Tulsa)
Hanna arrives in Golden after spending the 2022 season at Tulsa as member of the Golden Hurricane program that advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. He prepped at James Bowie High School and played club soccer for Lonestar SC for 11 seasons. He earned 2021 ECNL All-Conference and All-America honors as well as earning ECNL All-Conference honors in 2022 and helped Lonestar finish as 2019 Dallas Cup finalists. Hanna was a two-year letterwinner at James Bowie High School where he earned Second Team All-Conference honors and was also a member of the cross country team and helped JBHS advance to the second round of playoffs as a junior. Off the field, he was a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and National Honor Society and four-time recipient of the Board of Trustees Award for being in the top 10% of his class throughout his high school tenure. Hanna intends to study Quantitative Biosciences & Engineering at Mines.
Carter Jansen // 6'0" // 160 // Midfielder // Parker, Colorado // Real Colorado MLS Next
Jansen attended Chapparal High School in Parker, Colorado. On the club tour, he is a member of Real Colorado MLS Next. He was a member of the National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars and was named to the honor roll all four years and earned academic letters as a junior and senior. He plans to major in Quantitative Biosciences & Engineering at Mines.
Paul Kliewer // 6'0" // 165 // Midfielder // Duluth, Minnesota // Shattucks MLS Next
Kliewer prepped at Shattuck St. Mary's in Duluth and was an academic standout, graduating with honors as a member of the Cum Laude Society and being named to the honor roll every term for four years. At the club level, he participated in the MLS NEXT Program. He is currently undecided on a major.
Henry Saunders // 6'1" // 160 // Defender/Midfielder // Severna Park, Maryland // Baltimore Armour ECNL
Henry Saunders prepped alongside his twin brother Peter at Severna Park High School in Maryland where he was a member of a state finalist squad in 2023. On the club circuit, he played for the Baltimore Armour. Off the field, he was a member of the National Honor Society. Saunders plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at Mines.

Peter Saunders prepped alongside his twin brother Henry at Severna Park High School in Maryland where he was a member of a state finalist squad in 2023. On the club circuit, he played for the Baltimore Armour. Off the field, he was a member of the National Honor Society. Saunders plans to major in Computer Engineering at Mines.
Graham Shoaps // 5'10" // 160 // Defender/Midfielder // Granville, Ohio // Ohio Premier ECNL
Shoaps prepped at Granville high School and was highly decorated in his career, as he registered 44 points on 19 goals and six assists as a senior and scored 39 goals over the span of four seasons. He was a two-time team captain and three-year letterwinner and as a senior, was named First Team All-Ohio, First Team All-Central District, First Team All-Licking County League and repeated as the LCL Player of the Year as a senior. Following his junior campaign, Shoaps was named Second Team All-Ohio, First Team All-Central District, First Team All-Licking County League and was named the LCL Player of the Year as a junior, while earning First Team All-League honors as a sophomore and was twice voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates. On the club circuit named an Ohio River Valley ECNL All-League selection with Ohio Premier. He graduated with honors and was a member of the Cum Laude Society, National Honor Society and named to the honor roll. Shoaps plans to major in Civil Engineering at Mines.
Timothy Walshauser // 6'1" // 170 // Defender // Kirkwood, Missouri // St. Louis Scott Gallagher MLS Next
Walshauser attended Chaminade College Preparatory School and was a two-year letterwinner. He started every match as a senior and earned All-Conference honors. He played for STL Scott Gallagher, Lou Fusz and STL City FC on the club circuit. Off the field he was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society and earned Special Academic Honors every semester. He plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at Mines.
