GOLDEN, Colo.
- Colorado School of Mines wrapped up the second day of the Mines Last Chance meet with qualifying pushes and nationals preparation at Stermole Track.

Tim Thompson led Mines' efforts on the track as he blazed to an all-conditions 1:50.77 800m, the new #6 all-time performance in the Mines record books, to put him on the nationals bubble in possibly the deepest event in D-II this season. Andy Gebhardt also ran his career best at 1:52.17.

The women's 4x400 relay got work in as Amena Nelson, Grace Galvin, Mackenzie Duck, and Aryelle Wright combined to go 3:48.61. Running solo in the 110m hurdles, Everett Delate 14.16 into a headwind, and Brin Strouse ran 5:04.06 in the 1500m in her final home meet.

Arvid Veidmark IV finished his accomplished Mines career with a 46.22m discus performance, and Kitt Rupar concluded her season with a 41.16m discus mark. Jennifer Jarnagin threw a new personal-best 49.04m in the hammer.

On the second day of the heptathlon, Avery Wright hit a solid mark of 5.34m before setting a new personal best 33.43m in the javelin; she then forewent the 800m finale and will try to qualify on her program record of 4,900 points set earlier this season.

Weather forced the high jump and pole vault events indoors to Steinhauer Fieldhouse but the venue change didn't slow down the Orediggers, who had some standout performances. Hannah Miller geared up for nationals with her best vault of 2023, clearing 4.17m just three centimeters off her program record; Ava Kowalski got over 3.67m.  Hunter Potrykus also had a great day clearing 5.23m, the second-highest of his career, and Noah Kelly made 4.73m. Grant Redmond won the men's high jump on fewest misses at 2.07m, and Lexye Wood cleared 1.61m for second in the women's event.

The NCAA Division II Championships field will be announced this week, with competition taking place at CSU Pueblo on May 25-27.
