Orediggers Debut at #21 in United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll

United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll
 
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches unveiled the 2023 preseason poll for men's soccer Tuesday and saw the Colorado School of Mines men's soccer team ranked inside the Top 25 ahead of the new year, checking in at #21.
 
Mines (13-5-3, 9-1-0 RMAC) swept the RMAC regular season and tournament titles in 2022 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship before seeing their season end against Cal State Dominguez Hills.
 
Reigning national champion Franklin Pierce was atop the poll, followed by national runner-up CSU Pueblo, whom the Orediggers defeated in a penalty shootout in the championship match of the RMAC tournament, Barry, Lake Erie and Charleston in the top five. Northwest Nazarene, Rollins, Maryville (MO), St. Mary's (TX) and CSUDH make of the remainder of the top 10.
 
The Orediggers kick off the season Friday September 1 on the road at Cal State Monterey Bay at 8 p.m. MT before returning to Stermole Soccer Stadium the following weekend to take on preseason #22 Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernadino on September 8 and 10.
