2023 Volleyball Schedule | Tickets
 
GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines Head Volleyball Coach Jamie Magalei has announced the Orediggers' 2023 schedule with 26 total matches including 13 home matches at Lockridge Arena.
 
Mines finished the 2022 campaign 22-8 overall while going 15-3 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play. The Orediggers also advanced to the RMAC Tournament semifinals and the second round of the NCAA tournament. In 2023, Mines will face four teams that also qualified for the 2022 NCAA postseason. Three of those squads also appeared in the final national rankings of 2022. In total, the Orediggers' 2023 schedule features 22 different teams, 14 conference matches, and 12 non-conference matches.
 
Action begins for Mines at its own Oredigger Volleyball Classic running Sept. 1-2 at Lockridge Arena in Golden. Opponents on opening weekend include Fort Hays State and Pittsburg State on Friday. San Francisco State and Findlay will face Mines on Saturday. Non-conference play continues Sept. 8-9 at The Cougar Classic hosted by Cal State San Marcos. The California trip features St. Edward's (Texas) and Concordia Irvine on Friday. It closes with Seattle Pacific and the hosting Cougars on Saturday.
 
Mines opens Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play home against Chadron State on Friday, Sept. 15, with Colorado Christian in town on Saturday, Sept. 16. That marks the first of three matches against CCU. Two more RMAC contests at Colorado Mesa and Westminster (Sept. 22-23) bring the Orediggers to the first of two pods which include non-conference play against RMAC foes. On Sept. 29, Mines will play defending league champion MSU Denver in a non-RMAC match at Colorado Christian. It will be one of two matches between the Orediggers and Roadrunners. Saturday, Sept. 30, pits Mines and CCU against each other for the second time in as many weeks.  
 
The back half of the 2023 slate puts the Orediggers inside Lockridge Arena seven different times including their second pod on Oct. 26, 27, and 28. Mines hosts Colorado Christian on Oct. 26. The Cougars will play CSU Pueblo in Golden on Oct. 27. The Orediggers and ThunderWolves face off on Oct. 28. Additional home matches in October and November include New Mexico Highlands on Oct. 7, Regis on Nov. 3, UCCS on Nov. 4, Fort Lewis on Nov. 10, and Western Colorado on Nov. 11. The second matchup between Mines and MSU Denver will be on the Roadrunners' home floor on Nov. 8. Parent and Alumni night will be Nov. 10. Senior Night is slated for Nov. 11.
