Matt Sparks finalized their incoming class for the 2023-24 school year.
The latest batch of Orediggers features 20 newcomers arriving in Golden for the fall of 2023. There are three transfers and 17 true freshmen including a total of 11 men and nine women. Seven individuals will focus solely on track & field. The other 13 runners will join the cross country team and bring their distance expertise to the track for the winter and spring. Geographically, Siemers and Sparks found their new talent across the entire country, with hometowns spanning from California to New York and Texas to Wisconsin.
Siemers' and Sparks' additions bolster a set of nationally elite programs. On the course, Mines' men are the defending DII national champions with the women touting their third straight podium appearance at the NCAA meet. History for the Oredigger women continued on the track and in the field in 2022-23. They won their first-ever RMAC Indoor Track & Field title while finishing tied for eighth in the nation at the indoor national meet. Mines' women also tied for 11th at outdoor nationals. The 2022-23 track & field campaign for the Oredigger men included a 14
th-place finish at indoor nationals and a 12
th-place finish at the NCAA's outdoor meet. Additionally,

Luke Julian totaled four individual national titles during the 2022-23 season.
