LILBURN, Ga. –
The Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball team is starting the new year ranked top-10 in the nation in both major NCAA Division II women's basketball polls.

The Orediggers moved to #9 in the WBCA NCAA Division II Top 25 Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll released Tuesday afternoon. They also appeared at #8 in the last D2CSC Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll released on December 18. Mines was previously #15 according to the coaches' and #10 on the media list. The Orediggers' rise in the rankings comes thanks to an active, nine-game win streak which started on Saturday, Nov. 18, with an 81-78 victory at West Texas A&M. Mines' last action was a 61-56 win at Western Colorado on Saturday, Dec. 16. That improved the Orediggers to 11-1 overall and 6-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. Mines last appeared inside the nation's top-10 on Jan. 11, 2023 at #9 in the coaches' poll and #7 according to the media.

Only one other RMAC team appeared in either top-25 with Adams State slotted #22 in the D2CSC rankings. No other conference squad is currently ranked or receiving votes. However, Mines has multiple non-conference foes on the national lists. Montana State Billings sits #15 in the media poll and #17 in the coaches' rankings. The coaches dropped Texas Woman's from #5 to #18 while the media still have TWU at #3. That ranking does not include back-to-back losses for the Pioneers.

Mines returns to action this Saturday, hosting Colorado Christian at 1 p.m. inside Lockridge Arena. Tickets can be purchased online at www.minesathletics.com/tv or at the door. Free video on the RMAC Network and live stats will be offered at www.minesathletics.com.
