COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Flynn Schiele continues to garner accolades for his huge Week 4 performance, this time earning the National Football Foundation Colorado Chapter's Player of the Week award.

Schiele had a record-setting 297-yard receiving performance for Colorado School of Mines against Black Hills State on Sept. 28 to earn the award, which goes with his RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honor from Monday. The NFFCC considers outstanding performances from all of Colorado's college football programs at the FBS, FCS, and D-II levels.

Schiele had the most prolific receiving yardage game for Mines since 1970 as he caught 13 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns, all of which beat or matched his previous career bests. The redshirt junior was targeted 16 times by Evan Foster in the Orediggers' 52-24 win. Schiele's 297 yards marks the most in a game by an NCAA Division II player this year (and the most since the 2018 season), and second-most in all of college football. Through four games, Schiele ranks in the national top-10 in receiving yards per game (131.5, 2nd), receptions per game (8.3, 2nd), and receiving yards (526, 5th).

He is the first Oredigger to earn the honor this season; Colorado's Travis Hunter had won the previous two.

The Orediggers (4-0, 2-0 RMAC) return to action Saturday at Colorado Mesa.
