COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado School of Mines punter Blake Doud and safety Will Ramsey are the RMAC Special Team and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for their performances in Week 6.

The two sparked Mines' 45-20 win over South Dakota Mines at Marv Kay Stadium on Saturday. It's Doud's second RMAC weekly award of the season and fourth in his career, while Ramsey wins it for the first time.

Doud helped Mines win the field position battle averaging 51.2 yards per punt on four attempts, including a long of 68. Doud put two of his four punts inside the five yard-line, and had two over 50 yards; none of his four punts were returnable. Doud now leads NCAA Division II in punt average at 46.6 yards per punt and Mines ranks fourth in net punting at 43 yards per attempt.

Ramsey sparked the Orediggers with a pick-six just 12 seconds into the game to earn the RMAC's defensive honor. Ramsey jumped the second offensive play of the game, a pass to the right side, and had nothing but daylight in front of him for a 30-yard touchdown return. He added four tackles in a game that saw the Mines defense limit SDM to 287 total offensive yards as the starters did not give up a touchdown.

Mines returns to action Oct. 19 at Adams State.
