SEASIDE, Calif. - Darkness suspended second-round play at the Otter Invitational as Colorado School of Mines' Lukas Taggart and Lucas Schulte are battling for top-10 spots at Bayonet Golf Course.

On a dreary and foggy day by the Pacific, Mines is in a battle for team position at +15, sitting fifth place with Cal State East Bay leading at +1. The Orediggers are in the middle of a crowded pack with only 10 strokes separating second (Chico State, +6) and sixth (Cal State Monterey Bay, +16).

Both Schulte and Taggart find themselves at one-over in a tie for ninth after Schulte shot a career-low 67 in the morning and Taggart finished with a 74. Taggart is one-under through 16 in his second round - keyed by an eagle on the 10th - while Schulte is six-over through 16 in his second round. Schulte rose as high as second on the leaderboard after his first round.

Carter Lolli bounced back from an opening-round 80 to sit at +1 through 15 as he is tied for 56th at +9 overall, and Max Lange is a shot behind him at T63 after carding 82 in the morning but going even par through 16 in his second round. Colt Tenpenny had a counting score of 76 in his first round but ran into a tough second round to be +17 overall in a tie for 90th, and Eric Casademont Vinyoles, playing as an individual, is at the same spot after a first-round 82 and a +7 through 16 second.

Cal State East Bay's Aaron Lee leads the individual field by three strokes at -5. Only five players were under par in tough Monday conditions.

The tournament will wrap up the second round starting at 8 a.m. Pacific Tuesday before rolling into the final round.
