Men’s Basketball Unveils 2024-25 Slate

10/8/2024 12:30:00 PM

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines head men's basketball coach Pryor Orser has unveiled the 28-game slate that awaits the Orediggers ahead of the 2024-25 season. Schedule highlights include matchups with four teams who made the NCAA Tournament last season, hosting the season-opening regional crossover event at Lockridge Arena and a pre-Christmas trip to the Las Vegas Strip for the Holiday Hoops Classic.

One new wrinkle to the schedule is an adjustment to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference slate, with game now being contested on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons as opposed to playing back-to-back days on Fridays and Saturdays as has been the standard in recent years. 20 league dates are on the docket this year as well, a decrease of two from previous seasons while all 15 league schools that's sponsor the sport have been broken up into five three-team pods, leading to some new weekend scheduling pairing not yet seen.

The season tips off starting Friday November 8 at home as part of regional crossover action against two familiar teams in Lubbock Christian followed by St. Mary's Texas and November 9. Two more Texas teams await the following weekend as the Orediggers hit the road to play UT Tyler and UT Dallas November 15 & 16.

After a non-conference bout with UCCS before Thanksgiving in Golden on November 26, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action starts December 5 & 7 with trips to Adams State and New Mexico Highlands before returning to Lockridge December 14 & 16 to host Colorado Mesa and Westminster.

Mines will head to the other Las Vegas just a few days later as a participant in the 2024 Holiday Hoops Classic, which will be played at the South Point Casino and Resort. West Liberty and Angelo State will be the opponents on December 19 & 20 to close out action on the hardwood in 2024.

The new year starts off with Northern New Mexico returning to Golden on January 4 as the final non-conference tune-up for the Orediggers with RMAC play resuming the following week on the road at Chadron State and South Dakota Mines on January 9 & 11.

The Orediggers then play five of their next six games at home starting January 16 against CSU Pueblo followed by Colorado Christian and MSU Denver on January 18 & 23. Following a trip to Regis on January 25, Mines is back at Lockridge Arena to host Fort Lewis and Adams State on January 30 and February 1.

Western Colorado and Westminster await as road games February 6 & 8 with Black Hills State and Chadron State coming to Golden the following week on February 13 & 15.

Three of the final four games of the regular season for Mines will be away from home as they'll head to MSU Denver February 18 before Regis makes the return trip to Golden February 20. The final trips of the season will be on February 27 and March 1 against UCCS and CSU Pueblo.
