Bushara, Collins Named To All-RMAC Teams

11/15/2024 12:05:00 PM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference teams and major award winners Friday morning and for their efforts this season, two members of the Colorado School of Mines men's soccer team were honored for their performances this season as Ayman Bushara was named Second Team All-Conference while Quin Collins earned Honorable Mention laurels.

Bushara shined in his first season of competition in 2024 after joining the program last fall and was an offensive force over the second half of the season and a major reason behind the Orediggers' outstanding finish to the season and return to the RMAC Tournament. The Aurora native led Mines in scoring with nine goals and ended the regular season on a seven-match scoring streak. He also added three assists for a total of 21 points and put 17 of his 28 shots on goal. Bushara was also 1-1 on penalty kicks and registered three game-winners across 942 minutes in 17 appearances with 14 starts. He finishes the fall ranked second in the RMAC in scoring and tied for second in winning goals.

Collins closes his career with his first All-RMAC honors after previously having been named to the 2022 All-Tournament and Most Valuable Player. The senior from Austin, Texas scored three times with two assists for eight points from his midfield spot and appeared in all 19 matches for Mines with 15 starts and logged 1,457 minutes, good for second on the team. Earlier this week he was named a First Team All-Academic honoree by the league for the second time in his career.

CSU Pueblo took home three major awards as Caio Oliveira took home Player of the Year honors while Shjon Andrews was named Defensive Player of the Year for a third time. ThunderWolves boss Oliver Twelvetrees was named the league's Coach of the Year. Soren Russell claimed Goalkeeper of the Year honors for UCCS while Fort Lewis took home Freshman of the Year honors for second consecutive season with Fabrizio Aguilera.
