DURANGO, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Fort Lewis on Friday night.
Hannah Kinnison put together a 12-kill, 12-dig double-double. She also surpassed 1000 kills for her career.
Jada Price and
Olivia Murillo combined for 22 digs. Also notable was
Kate Kudlac pounding out nine kills on over .300 hitting.
Eryn Hiraki made her collegiate debut in the second-to-last match of the regular season. On paper, every statistical category was close, but edges to Fort Lewis (10-15, 6-7 RMAC) made the difference. Mines (9-16, 5-8 RMAC) owned advantages in attack percentage and service errors.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The visitors claimed a 25-16 win in the opening set. It was the Orediggers' only advantage of the night after Kudlac put down three kills on .600 hitting. Game two went to Fort Lewis by a score of 25-23 despite Kinnison's six kills. Four kills from Kudlac forced extra points in the third frame, but the Skyhawks still won, 26-24. A 25-18 margin in the final set sealed the match – and likely Mines' season.
