D2 CCA All-America Teams
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Three members of the Colorado School of Mines women's soccer were honored Tuesday by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2 CCA) as
Reese McDermott,
Ava Harman and
Bella Campos were named All-Americans by the association Tuesday.
McDermott and Harman earned First Team status while Campos added Second Team honors to her list of 2024 accolades.
A total of 32 institutions had at least one student-athlete named to one of the three All-America teams. Mines' three selections were tied with Columbus State for the most in 2024 as the Orediggers were one of five institutions with multiple selections.
McDermott's honor adds another accolade to an already impressive legacy at Mines as she earns her first All-American honors from the D2 CCA and the third overall of her career. The RMAC Co-Player of the Year and back-to-back Academic Player of the Year, McDermott ended her fall with 19 goals and seven assists for 45 points with seven game-winners. For her career, the Houston native will go down as one of the all-time greats in program history, ranking in the top five in every offensive category and penning her name into several single-season categories and holding numerous time-based scoring records. Over her four years in Golden, she scored 53 goals and recorded 19 assists for 125 points with 18 game-winners while captaining the more than 40 matches, a mark which also ranks inside the top 10 all-time. Her 19 goals and 45 points in 2024 are both the third-most in a single-season by an individual in program history.
Harman, the RMAC's Defensive Player of the Year, closes her career by claiming the first All-American honors of her career. The graduate student from Vancouver was a First Team All-RMAC selection this fall after spearheading one of the nation's best defensive units that allowed just 0.57 goals and 7.8 shots per match with 13 shutouts. She scored four times with two assists for 10 points with three game-winners. A monument of durability, Harman closed the season third on the team with 1,921 minutes played and over her career clocked 7,608 minutes in 95 matches with 91 starts. She added seven goals and 11 assists for 25 points, putting 30 of her 54 shots on goals and netting five game-winners.
Campos earns the second All-America honors of her career in 2024, improving from a Third Team selection in 2023. The RMAC Co-Player of the Year with McDermott, Campos closed the season with 14 goals and seven assists for 35 points with five game-winners in 23 matches with 10 starts for 1,228 minutes. A First Team All-RMAC selection and RMAC All-Tournament team honoree, Campos scored in six of the final eight matches of the season and scored in consecutive matches five times this season. She was the only player to record a hat trick in league play this season, doing so at Adams State on October 27 and made history with
Afton Rasco as the only Mines teammates to score in back-to-back NCAA Tournament contests. Through two seasons at Mines, she ranks fifth all-time in points and goals and is the fifth 30-goal scorer in program history.
