GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines women's soccer striker
Reese McDermott added her second All-America honor of the week Thursday as for the third time in her illustrious career, she was honored by the United Soccer Coaches as a First Team selection.
McDermott's First Team honor follows two Third Team All-America selections in 2022 and 2023 from the United Soccer Coaches. It is the fourth All-America honor of her career following a D2 CCA selection earlier this week. The RMAC back-to-back RMAC Player and Academic Player of the Year, McDermott ended her fall with 19 goals and seven assists for 45 points with seven game-winners. For her career, the Houston native will go down as one of the all-time greats in program history, ranking in the top five in every offensive category and penning her name into several single-season categories and holding numerous time-based scoring records. Over her four years in Golden, she scored 53 goals and recorded 19 assists for 125 points with 18 game-winners while captaining the more than 40 matches, a mark which also ranks inside the top 10 all-time. Her 19 goals and 45 points in 2024 are both the third-most in a single-season by an individual in program history. Additionally, she holds the records for the fastest goal to start a match, the fastest consecutive goals by an individual, the latest goal in regulation and the latest game-winner in regulation.
