After 10 minutes of game action, CMU owned a 21-15 advantage despite four points from Howery and three from Beaty. Howery poured in seven more points in the second period. However, the Mavericks outscored Mines 16-11, making the halftime margin 37-26. Seven points off the hand of Howery and six by Siebert in the third quarter accounted for all of the Orediggers' scoring in the frame.
