NEW ORLEANS -
Colorado School of Mines' men's and women's track & field teams have made huge leaps in the USTFCCCA National Rating Index this week.

After both were outside the top 25 last week, the Oredigger men moved to #5 in NCAA Division II and the women to #12 on the back of another strong weekend of competition as Mines split up for meets in Boulder and Gunnison.

The rating index considers current national performance list marks to create a team ranking. Mines added numerous top performances over the weekend, including the nation's #4 men's mile time by Loic Scomparin, #5 60m hurdles performance by Everett Delate, and the #10 and #13 women's 3K times by Zoe Baker and Holly Moser, respectively. Overall, the Mines men own 19 NCAA provisional marks, including 10 in the top 15; the women have 15 overall and nine in the top 15.

The Orediggers expect more big things this weekend as they again split up, with the distance group heading to the always-fast David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University, and the rest of the team going to the nationally-competitive Gorilla Classic at Pitt State, site of this year's national indoor championship.
