GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines announced its 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day, welcoming 31 freshman and two transfers to the program.
Head Coach
Pete Sterbick's first signing class included some of Colorado's best talent with three signees coming from 5A state champion Columbine - including state player of the year
Josh Snyder,
Mason Moreno, and
James Cillessen - and two from multiple-time state champion Cherry Creek in
Evan Godin and
Tyson Mauck. They were part of nine Coloradans overall with
Niko Auerbach (Regis Jesuit),
Cole Gaddis (Longmont),
Owen Mellish (Monarch), and
Kael Weatherby (Eaglecrest) joining them.
Texas continued to be an emphasis in the Orediggers' recruiting with 15 additions from the Lone Star State, including Prosper teammates
Luke Johnson and
Davis Perkins and Clear Creek teammates
Garrett Carleton and
Quinton Gray. Signings from top programs around the state includingÂ
Nicholas Dudzikowski (Smithson Valley),
Matt Garita (Keller),
Preston Kyle (St. Pius X),
Zach Lang (Willis),
Connor McGrath (Reedy),
Jacob Rauch (Cypress Christian),
Mo Russolillo (Lone Star),
Jaxon Sayers (Lake Creek),
Tyson Timms (Aledo), and
Colton Williams (Johnson).
Mines' coaching staff went across the country to build the Class of 2024, including two Californians in
Matthew Carrillo (Canyon) and
Lucas LeSieur (Northgate) and a pair of Washingtonians in
Kai Brown (Eastlake) and
Jayden Reyes (Eastside Catholic).
Josh Hildebrand from Alabama's Montgomery Catholic,
Bryce Lisaka from Kansas City's Park Hill,
Jack Mills from Michigan's Airport High School, and Utah native
Jace Welsch from Provo High School completed the freshman class.
Mines' two transfer additions, already enrolled for the spring, came from Division I with defensive tackle
Dominic Caggiano joining from South Dakota with redshirt junior eligibility, and athlete
Grayson Medford from UTSA with redshirt sophomore eligibility.Â
