Hammer Throwers Start Weekend In Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo
. - Kitt Rupar and Davin Kiesby got the weekend started for Colorado School of Mines track & field as they took part in the hammer throw at the Jack Christiansen Invite at Colorado State on Friday.

Rupar hit a personal best in the event for the second consecutive week, throwing 51.43m to take ninth overall and first among NCAA Division II competitors in the 22-woman field. Rupar threw 50.74m last week, which was her previous PR.

In the men's event, Kiesby marked a best of 49.79m for eighth place overall, second among D-II competitors. 

Ruper is also entered in tomorrow's discus and shot put events at CSU, along with Everett Delate in the 110m hurdles, while the rest of the Oredigger squad heads south to CSU Pueblo for the Chuck Haering Invitational; both events start at 10 a.m.
