BOULDER CITY, Nev. -
Under-par final rounds from Owen Cornmesser and Ethan Adam paced #19 Colorado School of Mines to a ninth-place finish in an elite field at the Las Vegas Desert Classic.

In a field that included nine teams ranked in the Scoreboard National Collegiate Golf Rankings top 25, Mines second among five RMAC teams, beating out #3 CSU Pueblo and #22 Colorado Mesa. #2 Lincoln Memorial won the team title at -26, with #17 Dallas Baptist and #9 Oklahoma Christian tying for second at -20 ahead of #7 Colorado Christian.

Adam continued his strong play from Monday with his second consecutive round of 71, marking two birdies against one bogey in a consistent third round. That saw him end up tied for 20th - his fourth top-25 of the year - at -2. Meanwhile, Cornmesser had the round of the day with a three-under 69, rising to T60 at +7. The junior had a blistering start to the day going five under through seven, including a hole-out eagle on the 443-yard 11th.

Lukas Taggart finished at even par and +4 to be tied for 48th, scoring five birdies in an up-and-down round that saw him battle back from being +4 at one point to finish -3 on his last nine. Theodore Reitter was also even par at 72, his best round of the week, to get to +7 and T60, with a par-producing round similar to Adam's.

Max Lange, despite a solid two-over 74, was Mines' non-counting score as he finished at +3 (T40). The Orediggers' scoring spread was a tight three strokes as they shot 284 (-4), their best round of the tournament.

CCU's Adam Duncan was the medalist at -13, a shot ahead of Oklahoma Christian's Oskari Nikku and CSU Pueblo's Jamie Roberts.

The Orediggers return to action April 5 hosting the Hot Dirt Classic in Goodyear, Ariz.
