BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Colorado School of Mines sits fourth through 18 holes at the 2024 RMAC Men's Golf Championships at Boulder Creek GC in Nevada.
The Orediggers finished at -5 after a team 283, with Colorado Christian (-19) and Colorado Mesa (-14) leading the field ahead of Fort Lewis (-10) and Mines, who had a tight one-stroke scoring spread among its four counters, all of whom were under par.
Lukas Taggart shot 70 to be -2 and in 11th place, while
Max Lange,
Ethan Adam, and
Jake Welch all came home at -1 after carding 71s to be tied for 12th. Taggart had an up-and-down start before an eagle on the 14th turned his day around as part of a two-under backside. It was a similar story for Lange who was +2 before sinking three birdies in his final eight holes, while Adam and Welch had torrid four-under starts before giving back gains in the afternoon.
Theodore Reitter was Sunday's non-counter at 75 (+3) to be tied for 29th.
Fort Lewis' Ronald Kildall III leads the field at -7 with three players - CCU's Xavier Bighaus and Adam Duncan, and CSU Pueblo's Jeff Nelson - tied at -6.
Monday's second round begins with 9:30 a.m. tee times, with the Orediggers expected to be in pairings with Westminster and CSU Pueblo starting at 10:15 p.m.
