GOODYEAR, Ariz. -
Lukas Taggart's 68 pushed him to a fourth-place finish to lead Colorado School of Mines at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on Tuesday.
Taggart matched his low round of the season to finish in a four-way tie for fourth at -10, his third top-five and fourth top-10 this year. The Orediggers shot a three-under 285 in the final round to get to -10 and finish seventh overall. Colorado Christian (-37) won the team title ahead of the host Western New Mexico (-31).
Taggart marked six birdies against a pair of pars to finish his outstanding 69-69-68 week.
Ethan Adam was next on the leaderboard with a one-over 73 to finish T28 (-1), and
Jake Welch shot even-par to be T38 at +1.
Max Lange was also even on the day, highlighted by an eagle on the 14th, to tie for 43rd at +2.
Lucas Schulte bounced back with a 73 to end up T83 at +8.
Playing as individuals,
Owen Cornmesser shot 72 to be T71 (+6) and
Carter Lolli carded 80 for a T83 (+8) finish.
Western New Mexico's Adam Niles was the medalist at -13, a shot ahead of Fort Lewis' Ron Kildall.
The Orediggers are back in action April 15-16 at the Southern Colorado Masters in Pueblo.
