2024 RMAC Softball All-Conference Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference teams and major award winners for softball Wednesday as four members of the Colorado School of Mines softball team earned accolades for their performances in 2024. Graduate student pitcher Sadriena Rodriguez headlined the Mines contingent earning First Team honors while sophomore outfielder Kendall Aragon earned Second Team laurels with freshman outfielder Kellan Ton and senior shortstop Sidney Wilson being tabbed Honorable Mention selections.

Colorado Mesa's Myah Arietta, Preslee Christensen and Mercedes Bohte were named Player, Pitcher and Coach of the Year respectively while Colorado Christian's Elyse McMullin was recognized as Freshman of the Year.

Rodriguez, who earned Second Team honors in 2023, posted an even more remarkable campaign in 2024. The lefthander posted an 18-7 record and a 2.33 ERA over 28 appearances including 24 starts, spinning 16 complete games and six shutouts. Over 153 innings of work, she recorded 128 strikeouts and walked just 44 while holding opponents to a .236 batting average. Her 18 wins led the RMAC in the regular season while her six shutouts were tied for the top spot. Additionally, she ranked second in the conference in strikeouts, third in ERA and innings pitched and fifth in opponent batting average. Rodriguez also made history in 2024 as she continued to stamp her name all over the Mines record book, becoming the fifth 40-game winner in school history and spinning the first no-hitter in over a decade on the final weekend of the regular season, breaking the program single-game strikeout record in the process.

Aragon, an Honorable Mention selection as a freshman, remained a staple at the top of the Mines lineup this season and led the team in hitting with a mark of .392 along with an on-base percentage of .436 and a .434 slugging percentage. She set a new career high with 32 runs batted in and recorded five doubles, a triple, 28 runs scored, 14 walks and was 7-9 on stolen bases while roaming centerfield and posting a .973 fielding percentage with 108 putouts and two outfield assists. She ranked 12th in the RMAC this season in batting average and was one of two players to start all 50 games this season for the Orediggers. She also eclipsed the 100-hit mark in ger career during the season and sports a career batting average of .387.

Ton burst onto the scene in her debut season, posting a .357 batting average during 44 games with 40 starts during the regular season and taking over starting duties in left field in the first month of the season. The Sugar Land, Texas product added five doubles and four triples while driving in 18 and leading the Orediggers with 34 runs scored and breaking the single-season program stolen base record of 25, a mark which ranks tied for third in the RMAC.

Wilson will end her career the same way she started it, earning Honorable Mention laurels in her freshman year of 2021. The Broomfield native batted .333 in 49 games all of which she started and posted a .431 on-base percentage while slugging .407. She posted five doubles, two home runs and drove in 28 while scoring 19 times while reaching base 28 times via free passes or hit by pitches. A career .344 hitter, Wilson has started all 182 games she has played in her career out of a possible 185 and ranks in the top 10 all-time at Mines in career walks with 60 while posting 187 hits and driving in 95 runs.
