NEW ORLEANS - There was little movement for Colorado School of Mines in this week's USTFCCCA National Ratings Index as the Orediggers turn their sights to the national championship meet later this month.
The Oredigger women remained at #7 coming off their RMAC team championship, while the men fell two spots to #13 after finishing a close third at RMACs. The ranking matches the best-ever for the Mines women outdoors.
The women's team added multiple national top-50 marks at the conference meet, including new season bests for
Riley McGrath in the 1,500m (#18),
Margaux Basart in the steeplechase (#17),
Allison Comer and
Aani Hardesty in the 400m hurdles (#25 and #33),
Imani Fernandez-Gorbea in the 800m (#46),
Claire Kintzley in the triple jump (#45),
Kitt Rupar in the discus (#19), and
Avery Wright in the heptathlon (#19). The men had four new or improved performances led by
Everett Delate in the 400m hurdles (#12),
Dawson Gunn and
John O'Malley in the 10,000m (#14 and #27), and
Brody Welch in the shot put (#29).
In this week's Event Squad rankings, which rank programs nationally by event, both the Mines men and women continue to lead the nation in the 10K and pole vault, while the men are third in the 5,000m and eighth in the 1,500m, and the women sit second in the 5K, fifth in the 800m, and seventh in the 1,500m.
The Orediggers are set for last-chance action this weekend at a couple of meets, taking part in the Air Force Twilight Open on Friday and the CSU Pueblo Last Chance on Saturday and Sunday.
