Everett Delate reset his Colorado School of Mines 110m hurdles record as he and
Avery Wright competed on the second day of the Franson Last Chance at Azusa Pacific.
Delate blazed to a 13.88 time, advancing to Saturday's final with the third-fastest time in the 18-man field. That improved upon his 13.90 run at the Maverick Invite #2 on April 13.
Delate entered the weekend at 13th on the national performance list and moves into a tie for 10th with the time, locking in his spot at the NCAA Championships. He is also entered in the 400m hurdles event on Saturday.
Wright ended the heptathlon with 4,826 points, finishing fourth overall. Wright started Friday with a 5.21m long jump, threw the javelin 31.15m, and wrapped up with a 2:30.63 800m time.
The Orediggers will compete at two meets on Saturday - the final day of the regular season - continuing the Franson Last Chance and also sending three athletes to the Loper Twilight in Kearney, Neb.
