2024 NCBWA All-America Teams
WINGATE, N.C. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its All-America teams for the 2024 season Thursday and for the second time in his career, Colorado School of Mines pitcher and infielder
Luke Folsom was named Third Team All-America at the Utility position.
The Littleton native previously earned postseason All-America honors from the NCBWA following the 2022 season and was also named preseason All-America prior to the 2023 season. All-time, Mines baseball now has 18 All-America selections as Folsom becomes the fourth player to earn at least three All-America honors, joining Nate Olinger, Mikey Gangwish and Trevor Kehe.
Already a two-time First Team All-RMAC honoree at starting pitcher and infielder along with a pair of All-Region honors in 2024, Folsom became the first Oredigger since Ollinger to earn a pair of First-Team All-RMAC nods in the same season. This season he was one of two players to start all 50 games, and on the mound went 6-1 with a 4.87 ERA in 11 starts over 64.2 innings with 58 strikeouts against 16 walks while holding opponents to a .262 batting average and tossing the first nine-inning complete game of his career in Mines' RMAC Tournament opener against Adams State. At the dish, he recorded a bounce back season posting a .365/.486/.625 line with 17 doubles, 11 home runs, 52 RBI and 46 runs scored while stealing a career-high eight bases. He graduated in May with a degree in Mechanical Engineering while carrying a 3.71 GPA. After four years with the Orediggers, Folsom appears more than 20 times in the program record book. Those listings include, but are not limited to, #1 in single-season doubles, #2 in all-time doubles, and #5 in career home runs.
